Job summary

The County of San Mateo's San Mateo Medical Center is seeking a skilled Charge Nurse with Emergency Department experience to join our team. Under the Nurse Manager, you will supervise nursing assessment, care planning, documentation, and coordination of patient care on the ED unit.

The ideal candidate holds California RN license, ACLS and PALS, and at least two years in ER/CCU with supervisory experience; CPI within three months.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in emergency room or critical care settings
• At least one year of supervisory experience in critical care
• ACLS and PALS certifications present
• Experience caring for patients with multiple co-morbidities
• Experience with diverse, underserved populations

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate and direct nursing activities on an assigned shift to provide quality care
• Supervise and perform nursing assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation
• Coordinate unit staffing for the assigned shift with nursing management
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplinary counseling of staff
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staff development and continuing education
