Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician in the District of Columbia to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Department/Trauma Center. The role involves monitoring patients, performing phlebotomy, IV starts and wound care while documenting all care accurately.

Under RN/NP/physician supervision, you will develop competency within three months and contribute to patient safety, environmental safety, and efficient throughput in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an emergency, medical or nursing technician training program required.
• Ability to comply with hospital policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare delivery team to provide specified care to patients.
• Anticipates patient care needs and implements diagnostic and treatment measures.
• Performs duties under supervision of RN, NP or Physician and develops competency within 3 months.
• Set up and monitor patient care equipment and document vital signs accurately.
• Perform/ document phlebotomy, IV starts, wound care and basic/ complex care as assigned.
