Huntsville Hospital Health System in Decatur, AL is seeking an Emergency Room Attendant to support licensed nurses by performing basic patient care tasks, such as vitals, feeding, mobility assistance, and transporting patients within the ER. Under supervision, you will obtain EKGs, perform venipuncture as trained, and ensure timely communication with the care team. A high school diploma or GED is required, and BLS certification is needed before orientation ends.

Overview

Under the direct supervision of licensed nurses, the Emergency Room Attendant performs various duties to assist in the care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. These duties include, but are not limited to, obtaining EKG's, venipuncture, ambulation assistance, toilet assistance, feeding, measuring vital signs and blood glucose, and transporting.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure: Must have high school diploma or GED.Experience: No previous experience required, but preferred.Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
