Job summary

Medical Center SE Texas Port Arthur is currently seeking an Emergency Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses in the Emergency Department. You will assist with the care of hospitalized patients and help maintain department policies and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of ECG monitoring programs with ACLS/BLS/NRP certifications as applicable. Prior hospital or nursing home experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification level courses (ACLS, BLS, NRP, etc.) as per department competencies.
• Successful completion of electrocardiographic monitoring program.
• Previous hospital/nursing home patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care activities under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse, the Emergency Technician performs various direct patient care activities in accordance with the Emergency Department policies and procedures. The Emergency Technician is able to assist with the care of hospitalized patients. The Emergency Technician may be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital/department policies; procedures and protocols.
