Huntsville Hospital in Decatur, AL, seeks an Emergency Room Attendant to support licensed nurses and care teams in the fast-paced ER. You will help with vital signs, assist with patient mobility, and transport supplies and patients as needed.

This role emphasizes clear communication, the ability to prioritize changing tasks, and adherence to policies. No prior experience is required, but BLS certification is needed by the end of orientation.

Overview

Under the direct supervision of licensed nurses, the Emergency Room Attendant performs various duties to assist in the care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. These duties include, but are not limited to, obtaining EKG's, venipuncture, ambulation assistance, toilet assistance, feeding, measuring vital signs and blood glucose, and transporting.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure: Must have high school diploma or GED.Experience: No previous experience required, but preferred.Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
