Job summary

Allworth Financial seeks a seasoned equity trader/research analyst to join its in-house equity team. You will have discretion over trading and rebalancing modeled portfolios, and you’ll carry out tax-aware gain/loss decisions, cash deployment, and position trimming within the model framework.

You will also conduct ongoing research on a set of stocks, track fundamentals and catalysts, screen for portfolio inclusions, and support portfolio construction discussions with the trading team.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of equity trading or related experience with direct trading responsibility.
• Demonstrated judgment in trade decisions beyond simple order entry.
• Understanding of tax-aware trading including gain/loss realization and wash sales.
• Ability to work independently within a team governance framework.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Trading and portfolio implementation across client models, including tax-aware decisions.
• Perform account-level rebalances and advise on cash deployment within models.
• Approve tactical rebalances and document trading notes and constraints.
• Support onboarding of new accounts into flexible models and tax budgeting.
• Conduct ongoing equity research on assigned sectors and names.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers to inform trading decisions with research.
