Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in New York seeks an Associate in Equity Research covering Food Producers & Retailers to model earnings, value equities, and produce research notes. You will communicate with clients and management teams while collaborating with Sales and Trading to deliver market insights.

The role requires Series 86/87 licenses, 2–3 years in equity research or IB, and strong finance, forecasting and writing skills. CFA or coding skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• FINRA licenses Series 86 and Series 87 required.
• Two to three years of experience in equity research and/or investment banking.
• Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business communication skills, as well as modelling, forecasting, and valuation experience.
• Advanced level of proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently.
• High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Passion for the markets and interest in Food Producers & Retailers sector.
• Preferred: CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA; some coding capabilities (VBA, Python)

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Excel-based models to forecast company financials and project industry dynamics.
• Perform detailed valuation work to support stock recommendations.
• Analyze complex data sets, earnings releases, regulatory filings, and industry events to shape view of the industry and companies.
• Write research notes on covered companies and sector reports and prepare presentations.
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external clients, industry experts, and management teams.
• Fulfill client requests in a timely and thorough manner.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and generate ideas for differentiated research products.
