Qualifications

• 1–3 years of sell‑side research experience (Chemicals/Materials/Energy or Industrials) or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Math, or Statistics.
• MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and 3‑statement models.
• Fully licensed with Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 preferred or to be completed within 6 months.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in fast pace with long hours.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA.

About the Role: Wolfe Research is seeking an experienced Associate to join its NY‑Based Extel‑ranked Chemicals, Agriculture & Packaging Team. They will report to the Senior Analyst and will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the franchise including modeling, note writing, and helping to create differentiated research analyses. Responsibilities will expand to include communicating with clients and sales/traders, and participating in the creative process. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, a great deal of critical thinking, and strong writing, modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience in equity research, investment banking, public accounting, consulting or industry is preferred.

Responsibilities & Professional Experience

• Generate ideas and communicate effectively in a time‑sensitive environment, balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and provide client service with strong organizational and writing skills.
• Creative problem solving using large data sets in Excel/Access, independent sourcing and processing of information.
• Strong communication skills, especially concise writing.
• Technical skills: Bloomberg/FactSet familiarity, advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, conditional formatting, shortcuts), statistics (regression, variance, covariance, correlations). Build and update financial and valuation models for covered companies.
• Mastery of Excel functions: shortcuts, complex logic formulas, reference formulas, integration of graphics and data tables, formatting, and basic programming.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of sell‑side research experience (preferably on Chemicals/Materials/Energy (Midstream) or Industrials teams) or equivalent experience on the buy‑side, investment banking, public accounting, consulting, or industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college/university in Finance, Accounting, Math, or Statistics.
• MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and building/maintaining 3‑statement models.
• Fully licensed with Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 preferred or expected to be completed within the first 6 months.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiastic about following the stock market and developing industry themes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, including 10+ hour workdays and occasional weekends.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $95,000–$120,000, with an annual discretionary incentive bonus and competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and disability insurance. Paid time off includes vacation, sick days, paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
