Job summary

Point72 is seeking an Analyst in its Fundamental Equities group in Chicago. You will learn the investing process, build financial models, and develop actionable investment recommendations for your PM.

You’ll conduct fundamental research on companies and industries, attend conferences, and collaborate with sell-side analysts, all while upholding the firm’s ethics and excellence standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, hedge fund, investment management, private equity or another relevant industry role.
• Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills.
• Passion for public markets investing.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn your PM’s and team’s investing process and exchange insights, identify cross-sector themes, and debate investment ideas.
• Build and refine detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation analyses of public companies within your sector.
• Conduct fundamental research on individual companies, industries, and subsectors to identify emerging risks and potential investment opportunities.
• Develop and present actionable investment recommendations directly to your PM.
• Attend conferences and industry events.
• Build relationships with relevant sell-side analysts, salespeople, and research associates.
• Embody Point72’s commitment to ethics, professionalism, integrity, and excellence—especially in partnership with our Compliance team.
• Analyze and incorporate macroeconomic and industry-specific developments and trends into your research.
