Job summary

Rox Data Corp in San Francisco is seeking an Equity Compensation and Payroll Lead to own payroll, variable compensation and equity operations end to end. This role is in-person, five days a week, within the Finance Team.

You will manage payroll input controls, equity administration, and tax withholdings, while aligning with external providers and internal policy. A strong control orientation and 8+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Payroll tax mechanics at depth across multi-state withholding and wage bases.
• Equity administration across Restricted stock, 83(b) elections and cap table reconciliation.
• Fringe benefit taxability and accounting treatment.
• Strong controls mindset; designed or improved payroll approval workflows.
• 8+ years in payroll operations, stock plan administration, or blended People/Finance operations at mid-size growth companies.

Responsibilities

• Payroll input control and approval: manage the entry path, maintain maker/checker separation, change log and cutoff calendar.
• Non-sales variable compensation: manage bonuses, referrals, sign-on/relocation, maintain audit trail.
• Equity administration and payroll tax: RSAs, 83(b) elections, vesting and repurchase schedules; W-2 reporting.
• Reimbursement and fringe taxability: accountable-plan testing, relocation and commuter benefits taxability.
• International and EOR administration: reconcile invoices and consolidate multi-provider footprint; own vendor relationships.
• Benefits and census: annual renewal, plan modeling, ACA reporting, 401(k) data accuracy.
• PEO exit readiness: analyze transition plan, wage base continuity, registrations, workers compensation, spin-off.
