Job summary

The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School in New York City seeks a Middle School Physical Education teacher who will collaborate with peers to weave physical education into a comprehensive middle school experience. You will lead activities that foster healthy habits, teamwork, and lifelong fitness across all students in your grade.

You will coach several sports teams, integrate health education, and teach in a purpose-built facility designed to spark joy and curiosity about physical activity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of lead teaching experience in 4th–9th grade classrooms in a public charter or traditional school setting.
• Ability to develop and implement a dynamic and engaging math curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
• Outstanding verbal ability and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with grade-level teachers to integrate physical education into the middle school program.
• Teach all students in a grade level each day with activity-focused instruction and skill development.
• Coach multiple TEP teams, including basketball and girls volleyball, and support health and fitness education.
