Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Associate's Degree is preferred.
• Ability to lift students is required.
• Ability to work and communicate with students in a professional manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Knowledge of students' educational, medical, physical, and social-emotional needs as defined by the teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing a variety of activities for a balanced program of instruction.
• Reinforce information and instructions following a lesson.
• Work with students individually or in small groups in academic studies and life skills.
• Implement behavior modification plans and procedures for individual students when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Observe and record students' progress.
• Assist students during recess, lunch, and bus transitions.
• Assist the classroom teacher and students in daily activities.
• Assist students with academic needs.
• Use behavior management strategies under the direction of the teacher.

Education
