Job summary

California State University Channel Islands seeks an Instructional Designer/Technologist III to lead advanced online and blended learning design efforts. You will collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Innovations team to shape courses, programs, and resources while supporting faculty in creating accessible, equity-minded online experiences.

You will develop training materials, templates, and design guides, expand an online faculty community, and drive quality assurance for learning projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any academic discipline required.
• Advanced degree in Education or related field highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in online and blended learning.

Responsibilities

• Applies extensive expertise in online design theory, learning theory, and practices to create accessible, inclusive, and equity minded online learning experiences at course and program levels.
• Collaborates with the Teaching & Learning Innovations team to design, develop, and facilitate online, blended, and digitally mediated courses.
• Creates and delivers training, workshops, templates, and design guides for faculty and staff in student support roles.
• Expands and maintains an online community for faculty focused on innovation in teaching and learning.
• Develops and manages online teaching and learning quality assurance processes and feedback loops.
• Builds consensus on learning design decisions, coordinates workflows, and ensures instructional integrity with QA and accessibility checks.
• Gathers and analyzes institutional data to inform design decisions and assess impact on faculty and student success.
• Represents CSUCI in system-wide instructional design efforts and collaborates with related offices.
