Job summary

Obra Capital, Inc. seeks an Associate in Derivatives Operations to join its New York office. The role supports the firm’s credit platform and expansion into equity derivatives, including options and futures.

You will work in the middle office with PMs, traders, and finance teams to ensure accurate trade lifecycle and reporting. The position requires 3–6 years in middle office/operations, strong Excel, and experience with equity derivative settlement and valuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
• 3-6 years of relevant middle office or operations experience within an asset manager/hedge fund.
• Hands-on equity derivative settlement, valuation, and administration experience preferred.
• Exposure to structured credit products (e.g., CLOs, ABS) is a plus.
• Experience with portfolio and order management systems; Enfusion is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills with PivotTables and data analysis; Bloomberg familiarity.
• Detail-oriented, process-driven, able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operational processes enabling portfolio management and trading activities across equity derivative strategies.
• Oversee full trade lifecycle: trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Liaise with traders, PMs, counterparties, fund administrators, and service providers to resolve breaks.
• Review valuations, reconciliations, and position verification on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Participate in cash management, collateral movements, margining, and liquidity monitoring.
• Execute procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare portfolio-, strategy-, and manager-level reporting on holdings, leverage, and risk.
• Support onboarding and maintenance of operational infrastructure and workflows.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance to improve reporting and data integrity.
• Assist in developing tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, and automated reports.
• Respond to ad-hoc inquiries with accurate analyses; contribute to process improvements.
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and continuous improvements of systems.
