Job summary

The Cboe Regulatory Division seeks a Surveillance Analyst to join the Equity Surveillance Team. Analyze real-time and pattern-based data to detect possible violations of Exchange Rules and SEC policies, working at the intersection of market structure and data analytics.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, a bachelor’s degree, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office; SQL/Access experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; economics, business, accounting, computer science, or finance preferred.
• Ability to work effectively and independently with all levels of management and staff.
• Strong written, analytical, and research skills with ability to apply quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance by analyzing and compiling data of securities traded on the Cboe Exchanges to detect possible violations of Cboe and SEC rules.
• Document surveillance findings and refer potential rule violations to the Investigations team with clear analysis and evidence.
• Assist in maintaining internal policies and procedures related to the Cboe Surveillance Program.
• Stay apprised of industry trends, regulatory actions, and market events to inform Regulatory Program priorities.
• Leverage AI and emerging tech to enhance surveillance effectiveness and design new AI-driven concepts.
• Test and calibrate surveillance parameters and alert thresholds to improve detection accuracy and yield.
