Principal Asset Management is seeking a Summer 2027 Equities Intern to join our research team in Des Moines, IA or New York City, NY. You will work with portfolio managers and dedicated sector analysts to deliver proprietary research and investment recommendations.

You'll participate in deep fundamental research, financial modeling, and stock pitching, with opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools and present your ideas to the team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering, business analytics, math, statistics, sciences (with investment coursework), or a related major.
• By summer 2027, you will have had courses or experience in security analysis including equity valuation.
• Exposure to equity investments through student organizations or work experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled research tools to enhance idea generation, due diligence, analysis, and investment decision-making.

Responsabilités

• Participate across the equity investment process, including deep fundamental research, corporate-access work, and financial modeling.
• Support Research Analysts in developing differentiated investment ideas.
• Take on special projects identifying potential buy and sell candidates and present your investment theses.
• Embed within the equity research organization through global daily meetings, sector-team discussions, and investment forums.
