Job summary

Western States Equipment Co in Hermiston, OR is seeking an Equipment Prep/Return Inspector for the Cat Rental Store. You will receive, inspect, and clean equipment, record fuel levels, and ensure the check-in process within 24 hours of return.

You will coordinate quick turnaround, assist in shipping/receiving parts, maintain yard cleanliness, and help customers in the yard with PPE and a thorough walkthrough of their rental machines.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree or certificate from an accredited vocational school preferred.
• Previous industry experience preferred.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent driving record and valid driver's license required with the ability to pass CDL requirements.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Responsibilities

• Inspect machines and attachments upon customer return for damage; record fuel added and complete check-in within 24 hours.
• Complete operational inspection of all returned rental machines within 24 hours of return.
• Assist in coordination of shipping and receiving parts and equipment to other stores.
• Maintain consistent daily communication with the Rental Coordinator for immediate needs.
• Engage with customers in the yard; provide PPE and a thorough walk-around of the machine.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization; steam-clean equipment as requested and keep area clean.
• Adhere to customer care standards and safety policies; participate in training and corporate programs as needed.
• Support Western States' vision and values; perform other duties as assigned.
