Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Yard Technician to keep our facilities clean and organized while supporting drivers and customers. You will learn the equipment rental process and safety practices to service a wide range of machinery.

The role offers hands-on training, opportunities to advance to Driver, Mechanic, and Sales/Operations roles, and a supportive team environment at multiple North American locations.

Qualifications

• Able to load/unload goods and assist drivers and customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and equipment.
• Basic computer input for orders and tickets.
• Communicate clearly with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Help to load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment and various pieces of machinery
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order
• Maintain and clean and organized yard and work area
• Answer and resolve customer questions
• Provide customers with expert advice on the selection, operation and maintenance of all the various types of equipment
• Support all team members
