Job summary

Wiregrass Auction Group in Thomasville, GA is seeking an Equipment Yard Manager to run the local yard, inspect, catalog, load out equipment, and oversee safety and presentation.

You will build relationships with consignors and buyers, expand the business with farmers and contractors across South Georgia and North Florida, and earn commission on new equipment business while working Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, with longer hours during sale weeks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years preferred in equipment sales, equipment rental, dealership operations, or equivalent hands-on equipment experience.
• Working knowledge of farm and construction equipment.
• Experience safely operating forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Ability to build relationships and win new business, including cold calls and in-person visits.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's requirements.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen after a conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming consignments, inspect and photograph equipment, and record condition.
• Tag lots and assign row and block locations so every item can be found before and after the sale.
• Keep the yard and heavy equipment inventory organized, safe, secure, and presentable along the highway.
• Host previews and showings and answer buyer questions on site.
• Manage loadouts and coordinate buyer pickups and shipping.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, tractors, and other equipment safely.
• Serve as the day-to-day contact for yard consignors from intake through settlement.
• Keep sellers informed and set clear expectations.
• Develop new business with farmers, contractors, dealerships, municipalities, and estates.
• Represent Wiregrass at local events, farm and industry gatherings, and in the community.
• Keep accurate records of prospects and consignors in our CRM.
