GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to maintain and repair heavy equipment and fleets. You will perform structural welding, fabrication, and body repairs on waste handling equipment and trucks to keep our fleet in service.

Responsibilities include layout, prep, safety, and tool maintenance in a day-shift shop environment with overtime opportunities. CDL is a plus and basic welding certification is preferred.

Qualificações

• Minimum 2+ years welding and metal fabrication experience (waste industry or heavy equipment experience a plus).
• Proficiency in MIG, Stick, and torching/cutting processes; basic welding certification preferred.

• Execute custom fabrication and body repairs on heavy trucks and fleet vehicles.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder / Fabricator to join our shop. In this role, you will be crucial in keeping our fleet and equipment operational, safe, and ready for service. You'll perform heavy-duty welding, structural repairs, and custom fabrication on solid waste equipment and vehicles year-round.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Repair & Maintenance: Perform high-quality structural welding and repairs on waste handling equipment, including compactors, roll-off containers, and dumpsters.
• Vehicle Fabrication: Execute custom fabrication and body repairs on heavy trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Layout & Prep: Safely perform metal cutting, torching, grinding, fitting, and surface preparation for painting.
• Safety & Standards: Inspect hand tools, maintain shop safety standards, and keep a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of welding and metal fabrication experience (waste industry or heavy equipment experience is a plus).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG, Stick, and torching/cutting processes. Certification in basic welding skills preferred.
• Equipment Knowledge: Ability to safely operate shop equipment, grinders, and welding tools. Must supply basic personal tools (welding helmet, basic hand wrenches, etc.).
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, dedication to safety, and ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 50+ lbs, standing, bending, and stooping).
• License: Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus).
