Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking an Equipment Trainer to design and conduct training for warehouse equipment operators, certify hands-on and written tests, and ensure strict safety and PPE compliance across all operations.

The role requires extreme safety awareness, PKMS/WMS familiarity, and the ability to maintain detailed training records and certification logs. Training duties include safety committee facilitation and OSHA-related sessions across departments.

Qualifications

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
  • Certified on all equipment.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Yard spotter certification.
  • Battery changer certification.
  • TSP 6000, SP 3000, RR/RD 5500, RC 3000, FC/FP 4000 SC 3000, PE 4000 certifications.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Meet KPI standards: pallets per hour productivity after training.
  • Perform tasks physically and systematically in a timely manner.
  • Operate under assigned sign in tasking group and conduct operator evaluations.
  • Conduct all operators’ certification training.
  • Provide daily safety policy reminders and OSHA regulations.
  • Implement monthly OSHA training and record-keeping.
  • Weekly facility safety evaluations and reporting.
  • Update Equipment Training Matrix and share with management.
  • Maintain driver documentation and certification cards.

Job description

Overview

The Equipment Trainer effectively trains and certifies employees into qualified equipment operators. The Trainer position handles all trainings, testing (both written and physical) in the warehouse. This position requires an extreme safety awareness, understanding the PKMS, WMS system as it relates to all operational task, and requires a commitment for accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Must successfully complete and pass the equipment trainer/turret operator training course written exam and hands on evaluation.
  • Turret, Reach, Dock Truck, Electric Pallet Jack certification required
  • Ensure the safe handling of equipment at all times
  • Follow all operating guidelines and safety expectations as they relate to the handling of all equipment.
  • Ensure the placement of all pallets within the racking does not impede the required 6”flue space
  • Maintain the minimum KPI standards PPH pallet per hours productivity for the position after a reasonable training time expires
  • Completes each task physically and systematically in a timely manner and is systematic order
  • Operates under their assigned sign/log – on in their tasking group at all times Conduct all equipment operators evaluations
  • Conduct all operators’ certification training
  • Provides daily reminders of safety policies & OSHA regulations
  • Implements monthly OSHA training in all departments and providing accurate records to the office
  • Facility weekly housekeeping audits and reporting
  • Validates daily audits in the battery changing area
  • Equipment hands on training for new hires
  • Facilitates the Safety Committee Meetings twice a month to discuss Safety concerns from each department
  • Ensures Monthly Harness / Lanyard Inspections are done monthly
  • Ensures Monthly Fire extinguisher inspections are done monthly by HBI during our monthly audit (when needed)
  • Monthly Lighting Inspections (check process)
  • Ensures Monthly Fan Inspections are done by HBI during our monthly audit
  • Baler/Compactor training and certification
  • Prescreens equipment operators for HR
  • Schedule training for Triennial certification
  • Update Equipment Training Matrix spreadsheet
  • Send out the Equipment Training Matrix via email to management
  • Keeps data share files up to date
  • Updates driver documentation and certification card
  • Record keeping for the day to day operation
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the safety training process.
  • PITCO re-certification, near-miss & additional training required by drivers
  • Replacement of lost certification cards
  • Weekly (one trainer minimum) Facility safety evaluation: identify opportunities to improve safety in the facility (Stand in the circle exercise)
Qualifications

  • Ability to remains in standing position for long periods of time
  • Minimal bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, climbing and crouching
  • Must cautiously tolerate heights up to 40 feet without physical/ mental restrictions
  • Must be able to lift and /or pull up to 50 lbs. without restrictions
  • Must be able to work in varying facility conditions.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse
  • Exposure to high levels of noise
  • Frequent exposure to dust and moving machineryExpose to constant vibration from machinery

The base hourly pay rate for this posting is between $27.00 hour . The base hourly pay range is a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay, while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward various levels of expertise, performance and tenure. The range listed is just one component of NFI's total compensation package for employees.
