Mansfield Service Partners is seeking a Fuel Tank Technician with a Class A CDL in Houston, TX.
Class A CDL is required to transport tanks and equipment, but this is not a traditional driving position. This is a hands‑on field role responsible for hauling, preparing, installing, and servicing temporary fuel and lubricant tanks and equipment at customer sites. You’ll work primarily with skid tanks, pumps, and related equipment, handling tank installations and rig-outs, preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and service calls in the field.

Duties
- Transport, deliver, set, stage, and pick up skid tanks ranging from 500 to 20,000 gallons, including tanks containing hazardous‑material residue.
- Operate a 20,000‑lb. winch and safely secure equipment for transport on flatbed trailers.
- Depending on location, operate specialized equipment including tractor/trailer combinations, sliding‑axle 53' trailers, and rollback wreckers to move and place tanks.
- Complete tank rig‑outs and equipment installations according to customer specifications.
- Perform field service calls, repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections on fuel and lubricant equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain tanks, pumps, hoses, nozzles, fittings, dispensers, and related fueling equipment.
- Use computerized fuel‑management systems and assist with fuel and lubricant sampling services.
- Inspect customer and company‑owned equipment for leaks, damage, maintenance needs, and other safety or operational concerns.
- Clean, prepare, and paint tanks and containment pans as needed.
- Clean up service spills and maintain an organized, safe tank staging and work area.
- Complete required inspections, inventory reports, and service documentation.
- Identify and report equipment, customer‑service, safety, and environmental concerns.
- Follow all DOT, CDL, Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E), and Mansfield safety requirements.
- Identify potential customer needs or sales opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate team.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
The positionis located inan outdoors environment frequent encounters dirt and dust, noise and vibration, fumes and odors and wetness/humidity. May be frequently exposed to mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Employee may be required to sit for long periods of time. The incumbent frequentlylifts upto 25 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am –5:00pm. This position does not generally require long hours and weekend work, but it may be necessary on occasion. Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
- Class A CDL with air brakes HazMat Tanker Endorsement, Required
- Two (2) years in Driving experience, operating a Winch Truck or Trailer
- One (1) year mechanical experience (automotive, industrial machinery, valves, pumps)
- One (1) year experience with fuel and lube pumps, nozzles, & fittings
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and problem‑solving techniques and skills
- Establishes and follows procedures and protocols; maintains consistency in work process
- Experience with pumps and strong mechanical and technical abilities a plus
