Job summary

Mansfield Service Partners is seeking a Fuel Tank Technician in Odessa, TX. The role entails preparing, installing, and servicing temporary fueling and lubricant tanks at customer sites, plus supporting maintenance and responding to field service calls.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing pumps, hoses, and nozzles, leading on-site work, and ensuring SH&E compliance. Travel up to 25% may be required, with full-time hours Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of mechanical experience in automotive or industrial settings.
  • 2 years with fuel and lube pumps, nozzles & fittings.
  • TWIC card preferred and HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Report on service calls with required docs and photos.
  • Repair or replace defective field equipment (pumps, hoses, nozzles).
  • Lead on-site installation, servicing, and repairs with limited supervision.
  • Identify process deficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Provide customer support and ensure safe housekeeping in the warehouse.

Job description

Mansfield Service Partners is seeking a Fuel Tank Technician in Odessa, TX. This position is responsible for preparing, installing, and servicing temporary fueling and lubricant tanks and equipment at customer sites. The role includes supporting equipment maintenance and responding to service calls, primarily involving skid tanks, pumps, and fueling systems in the field.

Essential Duties
  • Report in on completed and incomplete service calls with required documents and pictures
  • Repair or replace defective equipment in the field such as pumps, hoses, and nozzles
  • Lead on-Site installation, servicing, and repairs without direct supervision
  • Help Identify process deficiencies and implement new processes
  • Provide customer support
  • Responsible for making sure housekeeping is kept up in the warehouse
  • Assist in direct training and development of new employees
  • Provides and maintains fuel and lubricant related equipment through installations, service calls, repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections
  • Installs and repairs computerized fuel management systems to manage fuel disbursements
  • Samples product tanks for fuel and lubes
  • Performs field inspections and maintenance of both MSP and customer owned tanks and related equipment (fleet pumps, hoses, nozzles, and related equipment)
  • Delivers and picks up fuel and lube tanks
  • Rigs out tanks to customer specification
  • Identifies and reports customer service, equipment, and SH&E issues to supervisor
  • Establishes and follows procedures and protocols; maintain consistency in work process.
  • Maintains Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) compliance requirements.
  • Removes old and damaged decals off tanks.
  • Cleans tanks inside and outside and clean containment pan within the contained area.
  • Paints cleaned out tanks and containment pans.
  • Manages work area free of trash and garbage.
  • Manges tank staging area organized by tank size.
  • Cleans up service spills.
  • Inspects gasoline and diesel dispensers for any visible leaks on hoses and nozzles.
  • Inspects all storage tank lids to confirm they are locked and tight.
  • Submits daily inventory reports.
  • Recognizes sales opportunities and communicate to supervisor, or other company personnel, as directed.
  • Will drive a company vehicle to pick up equipment and complete deliveries as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Working hours are Monday — Friday, 8:00 am — 5:00 pm. This position does not generally require long hours and weekend work, but it may be necessary on occasion. Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%.

Minimum Education Experience and Certification
  • One (1) - Two (2) years mechanical experience (automotive, industrial machinery, valves, pumps)
  • Two (2) years' experience with fuel and lube pumps, nozzles, & fittings
  • TWIC Card preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills. and Abilities
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving techniques and skills
  • Establishes and follows procedures and protocols; maintains consistency in work process
  • Experience with pumps and strong mechanical and technical abilities a plus
