Job summary

Tower Semiconductor in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an experienced equipment technical specialist for Wet Etch production. You will solve complex machinery problems, plan improvements with engineers, and develop autonomous solutions producing significant results.

You will analyze failures, lead maintenance programs, train junior technicians, interface with vendors, and contribute to safety and yield investigations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Requires an AS degree (Military or Trade School with an emphasis in electronics/mechanical equivalent may substitute for AS degree) or higher education and prior experience in mechanical, electrical or automotive fields.
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, electrical circuits, motor control systems and test procedures and troubleshoot to component level.
  • Hands-on experience with listed toolsets such as Akrion Rear Mount and GAMA, SCREEN DNS SU-2000 and FC-821L, SEZ 223 and 4200, FSI Mercury, and LAM Sabre NeXT, FabGuard, FPS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex machinery problem solving of semiconductor equipment in production environment for the Wet Etch area and participate on problem solving teams.
  • Ability to work with Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement projects.
  • Develop resources to solve problems and provide imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions or new work methods.
  • Lead and direct activities to develop/improve existing equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Collect equipment-specific performance data with Engineering to implement solutions based on Pareto data and tool deficiencies.
  • Provide technical equipment-specific training to lower-level technicians.
  • Interface with vendor support to resolve equipment-related failures.
  • Diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning equipment to component level as needed.
  • Lead in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations.
  • Exercise judgement in problem solving and assignments, making recommendations.
  • Participate in ERT/Safety events in supervision's absence.
  • Ensure required parts are on order and minimize equipment MTTR.
  • Work independently with minimal support.
  • Viewed as a technical expert in production tools.

Job description

  • Ability to work with in the cooperation with Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement project initiatives.

  • Able to develop his/her own resources to solve problems and provides imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.

  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions, or new work methods.

  • Lead and direct the activities to develop/improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.

  • Collect equipment-specific performance data working with Engineering to develop and implement solutions to equipment-specific failures based on collected Pareto data, and tool deficiencies.

  • Provide technical equipment-specific training to lower-level technicians.

  • Interface and direct vendor support to resolve equipment related failures.

  • Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair malfunctioning equipment to component level (diagnostic to component level), as needed.

  • Ability to take a lead role in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations.

  • Proper judgment is required in resolving problems and carrying out assignment and making recommendations.

  • Participate and lead/direct ERT/Safety events, during the absence of supervision.

  • Ensure all required parts are on order and follow up as required to minimize equipment MTTR.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal support.

  • Viewed as a technical expert in more than one Production tool type

Job Requirements
