Job summary

Tower Semiconductor is seeking an Equipment Engineer to sustain, optimize, and improve the reliability of LAM Plasma Etch equipment. You will lead maintenance activities and guide technicians while collaborating with Process, Production, Procurement, and Facility teams.

The role emphasizes data analysis, problem solving, and cost-saving initiatives, with opportunities to travel to domestic and international sites. A BS in Engineering and 5 years of equipment experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline.
• 5 years experience supporting and maintaining Semiconductor Equipment.
• Experience on LAM 9600, 9400, 4500, 2300 toolsets is required.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills to a component level on Dry Etch equipment.
• Data analysis to evaluate equipment performance and optimization.
• Ability to lead maintenance activities and coordinate with multiple groups.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for sustaining, optimizing, and improving the performance and reliability of LAM Plasma Etch Semiconductor Equipment. You will lead all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on assigned equipment, providing leadership, guidance, and support to area technicians. You will also drive cost savings initiatives and generate and execute timely improvement projects on assigned equipment, collaborating closely with Process, Production, Procurement, and Facility groups.

• You can work toward achieving and exceeding assigned goals such as Equipment Availability, MTTR, and MTBF, eliminating recurring equipment failures by devising new approaches and solutions to complex problems.
• You can optimize preventive maintenance procedures and provide clear instructions and documentation to technicians.
• You can collaborate with equipment vendors or second-source companies to modify parts and improve equipment performance.
• You can identify opportunities to reduce maintenance and operating costs, provide cost studies for preventive maintenance activities, and optimize spare parts inventory to reduce spares costs.
• You can lead the evaluation of new equipment or software and make recommendations aligned with Tower Semiconductor's business objectives, including performing source inspections at vendor sites and coordinating with facilities and vendors to meet installation schedules.
• You can work with the Process Engineering group to identify opportunities for yield improvement and maintain equipment process parameters within specifications.
• You can identify and implement sustaining capital upgrades to increase tool performance, supported by ROI justification.
• You can collaborate with IE, Production, and Process groups to identify opportunities for improving cycle time.
• You can provide monthly reports summarizing all maintenance and project activities.
• You can work with a high level of autonomy in alignment with managerial priorities.
• You can ensure compliance with all ISO requirements and develop new ISO procedures as needed.
• You can travel to domestic and international Tower Semiconductor sites to provide support as needed.

Job Requirements

Must Have:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline
• 5 years experience supporting and maintaining Semiconductor Equipment, with strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to a component level on Dry Etch equipment.
• Experience on LAM 9600, 9400, 4500, 2300 toolsets is required.
• Thorough knowledge of measurement instrumentations, electro-mechanical devices, vacuum systems, Robotics/Sensors, and strong engineering/Technology skills is a must.
• Candidate must have the ability to conduct data and statistical analysis to evaluate equipment performance. Strong leadership and computer skills are required.
• In depth knowledge of equipment functionality, subcomponents, control circuit, and its process parameters is required.
