Job summary

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando is seeking an Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair golf course equipment and vehicles. You will attach test instruments, read gauges, and perform engine tests to identify malfunctions.

The role requires disassembly, inspection, and replacement of worn parts, along with welding and maintenance tasks. Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of engines are essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of 2 and 4 cycle engines, diesel engines, electrical systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Grinding, welding and torch experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses mechanical failures and repairs all golf course equipment and vehicles to factory specs.
  • Attaches test instruments and reads meters to diagnose engine problems.
  • Disassembles engines, transmissions and clutches for repair.
  • Inspects parts for wear and tolerance with gauges and calipers.
  • Replaces worn parts, adjusts brakes and tunes engines.
  • Welds damaged body or frame parts and maintains records.
  • Performs daily equipment checks and preventative maintenance.

Job Description
Equipment Technician

Reports to: Equipment Manager, Director of GCM & Grounds

FLSA Status: Hourly/ Non- Exempt

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Diagnoses mechanical failures and repairs all golf course related equipment and vehicles according to manuals, factory specifications and knowledge of engine performance.
  • Attaches compression, ignition and timing test instruments to certain parts of equipment.
  • Starts engine dials and reads meters and gauges of testing equipment to diagnose engine malfunction.
  • Removes and disassembles engine, transmission and clutches.
  • Inspects parts for damage and verifies dimensions and clearance of parts for conformance to factory specifications using gauges, such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged parts.
  • Grinds valves, relines and adjusts brakes, tightens body bolts, aligns wheels and tunes engine.
  • Welds defective body or frame parts.
  • Maintains daily work records.
  • Performs daily equipment check in and preventative maintenance procedures.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position includes (long periods of) climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Must be able to navigate through rough and uneven terrain.

Must have ability to work in hot and muggy conditions on continuous basis.

Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.

Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
