Job summary

Nicklaushealth in Miami seeks an Environmental Services technician to retrieve soiled Respiratory Therapy equipment from patient areas, decontaminate it, reassemble and perform basic tests to prepare devices for patient use. You will also log decontamination status on paper and keep RT supply rooms stocked at par levels while answering the department phone.

The role requires clear English communication, ability to follow simple instructions, and courteous customer service as you interact with RT

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years healthcare experience.
  • Ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing to request supplies and properly label supply items.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions to accomplish repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and peers.
  • Knowledge in use of computers and printers, and/or ability to learn appropriate software application(s).
  • Knowledge of Spanish helpful.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and collects respiratory therapy equipment to/from patient care areas.
  • Assists with medical gas cylinder transfers and maintains inventory control.
  • Performs daily patient rounds to track equipment inventory.
  • Performs the decontamination, testing, and reassembly of respiratory therapy equipment as per department policies and procedures.
  • Completes paper-based log with decontamination status.
  • Responds to requests for respiratory therapy services and alerts appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Maintains respiratory care supplies at par levels throughout RT supply rooms.
  • Answers department phone and assists customers promptly and courteously, communicating patient information with RT staff.
