Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking an Equipment Engineer for our Miami, FL operations. You will support estimating with equipment selection, create cost analyses, and develop rental vs. owned strategies to optimize bid profitability.

You will collaborate with asset management to stay current on pricing, residuals, and operating costs, while managing shop tools and safety inspections. This role offers growth within a respected national contractor.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of work experience in equipment purchasing, repairs or asset/fleet management.
• Experience with construction software is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support estimating teams with equipment selection and cost analysis.
• Create and maintain equipment ownership and operating cost data.
• Develop Rent vs. Own analysis and Buy-Salvage economics for bids.
• Integrate equipment needs into resource-loaded schedules and EMT.
• Maintain equipment pricing, residual values, and operating cost data.
• Manage shop tools, inventory and repair processes.
• Oversight of weekly safety inspections and tool talks.
