Job summary

Big Country Restaurant & Refrigeration is seeking an Equipment Service Technician to join our installation and repair team. You will process and complete work orders, install new systems, troubleshoot failures, and perform equipment maintenance.

Ideal candidates have HVAC certification, refrigeration experience, and strong mechanical/diagnostic skills, with the ability to read blueprints and work outdoors in varying weather. Excellent pay and benefits await the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a refrigeration technician.
  • HVAC certification required.
  • Braising and soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of local building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
  • Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and complete work orders.
  • Contact the client to ascertain equipment needs.
  • Order equipment supplies, repair modules, and sundries for the order.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
  • Install climate control systems, refrigeration units, cooking equipment, and beverage equipment.
  • Observe and test newly installed systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Maintain stock levels.
  • Replace worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors.
  • Inform clients of repair costs and alternate cooling options.

Overview

Equipment Service Technician

We are looking for an experienced refrigeration and/or cooking equipment technician to join our installation and repair team. As a technician, you will be responsible for processing and completing work orders, installing new systems, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and performing equipment maintenance. You may also be required to advise on equipment upgrades and alternate cooling units.

To ensure success as a technician, you should have advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems and cooking equipment, good mechanical skills, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Ultimately, a top-class refrigeration and/or cooking equipment technician expertly installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration equipment for a client with the least amount of down-time.

Technician Responsibilities
  • Processing and completing work orders.
