Join to apply for the Equipment Service Technician role at STERIS

As a Life Sciences Equipment Service Technician at STERIS, you will act as a trusted advisor to our Customers in the maintenance and procurement of Life Sciences products, including medical devices and consumables. You will provide on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units in a healthcare environment.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

1. Drive Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS products safely and efficiently.
3. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish equipment and system components.
4. Ensure a positive Customer experience by providing timely maintenance, service calls, warranty calls, and minor installations.
5. Maintain communication with the Area Service Manager regarding activity and sales opportunities.
6. Identify sales opportunities and recommend STERIS products/services to customers.
7. Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance.

Required Skills and Experience

• High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including outside normal business hours.
• Residency within 50 miles of the territory center.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push wheeled transporters up to 50 pounds.
• Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical, or similar discipline with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of GMPs and GLPs.

Additional Qualities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
