Job summary

Chet’s Rent-All, a family-owned equipment and tool rental company serving the greater Detroit area since 1946, is seeking a dependable Equipment Service Technician. This role keeps rental gear safe, reliable, and ready for customers, contributing to an outstanding rental experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; Chauffeur license preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts and yard equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in-person and by phone.
• Operate equipment for loading/unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers.
• Follow safety procedures and properly use PPE.
• Explain safe operating procedures of equipment to customers.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is safe and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment or facility.
• Complete inspection checklists and report issues to the Store Manager.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs.
• Secure equipment to prevent accidents, hazards, or unauthorized use.
• Support team members as needed.

We are looking for adependable, safety-focused Equipment Service Technician to join our team. This role ensures rental equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use, playing a key part in delivering an outstanding rental experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners
• Operate equipment for loading and unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Explain safe operating procedures of equipment to customers.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is safe and in proper working condition
