Job summary

Qualifications

• Independently perform major repairs and maintenance on diesel and gasoline trucks.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment.
• Obtain Virginia State Inspection License within 12 months of employment.
• Operate various types of light to heavy trucks and equipment safely.
• Read and comprehend service and repair manuals and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle and asset failures using testing equipment and manuals.
• Prepare equipment for emergency operations and perform road-side repairs.
• Process maintenance paperwork and close-out work orders in the system.
• Perform repairs and overhauls to engines, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per PM schedule and guidelines.
• Conduct Virginia State inspections under VSP guidelines.
• Design, fabricate, modify and weld components as needed for repairs.
