Continental in Livonia is seeking an Equipment Refurbishment Technician to inspect, clean, repair, and restore equipment to peak condition. The role supports service teams and involves documenting findings, refurbishment plans, and safety compliance.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred) and 1+ year of equipment repair/refurbishment experience. Lifting up to 75–100 lbs and detailed record-keeping are part of the job.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or refurbishment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, repair, and restore equipment to optimal condition.
• Evaluate equipment condition and identify repairs or replacements.
• Document findings and prepare refurbishment plans.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment with proper tools.
• Replace worn parts and perform adjustments.
• Apply finishing touches like painting or coatings.
• Conduct functional tests to ensure performance.
• Verify compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain records of refurbished equipment and parts used.
• Update tracking systems and report completed work to management.
• Work with service teams to prioritize tasks.
• Assist in training new technicians on refurbishment processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Experience You’ll Create:

The Equipment Refurbishment Technician is responsible for inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and restoring equipment to optimal working condition. This role ensures that all refurbished equipment meets quality and safety standards before being returned to service or resale. It requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Evaluate equipment condition and identify necessary repairs or replacements.

• Update tracking systems and report completed work to management.
• Work closely with service teams to prioritize refurbishment tasks.
