Job summary

Atlas Copco in Grayling, MI is seeking an Equipment Preparation Technician to ensure orders are prepared accurately, packaged securely, and shipped on time. You will verify functionality, apply safety labels, and coordinate with shipping to ensure secure transport.

The role requires forklift/crane certifications or willingness to obtain them within 60 days, physical stamina, and a strong focus on detail and safety in a warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Certifications in operating forklifts and cranes, or the willingness to complete these within 60 days of hire.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or general labor roles preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties in a warehouse environment.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse/factory with machinery, noise, and variable temperatures.
• Basic computer literacy for handling documentation and inventory records.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, OSHA standards, and proper PPE use.
• Willingness to take on various duties within the Assembly department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stage outgoing equipment for shipment with accuracy.
• Complete and maintain shipping checklists and documentation.
• Assist in testing equipment to verify functionality before shipment.
• Inspect and secure fasteners; apply match marks for tightness.
• Install guarding, labels, and caution stickers on equipment.
• Collaborate with shipping to palletize and secure items for transport.
• Support equipment start-up and final testing as needed.
• Perform related duties to support shipping and logistics operations.
