Job summary

GCC is seeking a capable Equipment Operator to work at our El Paso plant. The role involves operating front-end loaders, water trucks, graders, and pickups, with routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance support.

You will report needs to management and follow safety procedures to ensure efficient site operations. Candidates should have a valid driver's license, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and a high school diploma or GED, along with basic math and computer skills.

• 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Responsibilities

• Operate various equipment including front-end loaders, water trucks, graders, and pickup trucks.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles; check oil, water, and tires.
• Report maintenance and repairs needed to management.
• Operate graders and front-end loaders for leveling and site prep.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, vendors and visitors.
• Work as directed by plant supervisor to meet plant needs.

What you will do:

• Under general supervision of Plant Manager, operates various equipment including front-end loaders, water trucks, graders, and pickup trucks.
• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
• Reports maintenance and repairs needed to management
• Operates graders for leveling.
• Operates front-end loaders as required.
• Operates excavators as required.
• Operates water trucks as required.
• Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping and related assignments.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Should be familiar or willing to be trained on MSHA safety rules, safety procedures for plant mobile equipment, lockout/Tagout policy, confined spaces policy, hot work policy, lubricants, paints/solvents and other environmentally sensitive materials.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, vendors and visitors.
• Will work where and when needed as directed by plant supervisor to meet plant needs.

Experience & abilities you will need:
