The City of Little Rock is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to manage the construction and maintenance of streets and alleys. The role requires operating heavy earth-moving equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards, including obtaining a Class A Driver's License. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience or equivalent education/experience and must complete training within six months of hire.
To operate heavy equipment in constructing, maintaining, and repairing streets, ditches, alleys, and other Public Works projects.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of eighth (8th) grade and one (1) year of experience in the operation of heavy earth-moving equipment or related equipment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class A (Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment; must obtain a valid Arkansas Class A (Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License without Automatic Transmission “E” or Tractor Trailer “O” restriction and must obtain an N endorsement within 120 days of employment and maintain licensure and endorsement for the duration of employment in this position.
Must complete the NeoGov leadership learning plan prior to the completion of the six-month probationary period.
