Workdays & Hours: This is a full-time position working at least 40 hours per week with benefits. Standard schedules include Monday-Thursday (6:15 am to 4:45 pm) or Tuesday-Friday (6:15 am – 4:45 pm). Schedules may include holidays, inclement weather days, and weekends, with Saturday and/or Sunday shifts possible based on demand.

An Equipment Operator is needed in the Environmental Services Department, responsible for street sweeping and litter control operations, supporting environmental quality and waste reduction efforts.

Multiple vacancies are expected to be filled.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma / GED.
• One (1) year of experience operating motorized equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” or “B” with no air brake restrictions at hire.
• Must pass Drug Screen and Physical.
• Ability to obtain Waste Screening and CFC Extraction Certificates within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and certifications related to the role; basic computer skills preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience operating motorized equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate various motorized equipment, including street sweepers and heavy machinery.
• Rotate between street sweeping and litter abatement, ensuring safety.
• Verify waste locations, maintain records, and operate equipment efficiently.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Complete reports and adhere to schedules and policies.

Working Conditions

Positions may involve physical activities like standing, kneeling, climbing, and lifting, with exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and environmental conditions.

Physical Demands

Heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
