Equipment Operator - Scrap Metal (Finance)

Entry-level starting at $23.23/hour. Eligible for SIGN-ON Bonus! Job level depends on skills and experience.

Primary Purpose:

Operators are responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-conscious processing of scrap steel, ensuring work meets or exceeds supervisor expectations by following policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in material transfer and storage
2. Operate heavy equipment used in material handling and loading
3. Maintain assigned equipment or tools
4. Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
5. Complete documentation and paperwork accurately
6. Comply with company standards, procedures, and regulations
7. Participate in safety meetings
8. Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping
9. Perform other terminal duties as needed

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent

• Successful background check and drug screening

Physical Demands:

• Regularly sit, stand, use hands, reach, talk, and hear
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds; work at heights up to 30 feet
• Visual requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Working Conditions:

• Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Respond to call-outs as needed
• Work in dusty environments and various weather conditions
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
