Job summary

State of Florida Department of Transportation seeks an Equipment Operator for District Four, Palm Beach Operations, located in West Palm Beach, FL. The role includes operating heavy equipment, performing road/bridge maintenance, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

The successful candidate will have one year of relevant experience, hold a valid Class E license, and obtain a Class B CDL with air brakes within 10 months. CAD adds to the total compensation package.

Qualifications

• Requires one year of experience operating small/medium equipment and vehicles.
• Valid Class E driver license with acceptable driving record; must obtain Class B CDL with air brakes within 10 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of heavy equipment including front end loaders, graders, and asphalt repair trucks for bridge and roadway maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment; conducts safety inspections and fluid checks.
• Performs Temporary Traffic Control and assists with crew activity reports as needed.
