Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)—Palm Beach District—seeks an Equipment Operator to perform a broad range of vehicle and equipment operations for district maintenance and field support in Palm Beach operations.

The role requires experience with front end loaders, graders, skid steers, and related equipment, plus a valid CDL and ability to meet CDL-related requirements. CAD pay adds ~$2,000 yearly; salary ranges are posted by the district.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of standard safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment, read and understand manuals, and document work.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and a range of small/medium equipment including loader, skid steer, grader, lifting equipment, and asphalt repair trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment; assist in repairs.
• Support bridge and roadway maintenance; clean and wash equipment.
• Perform Temporary Traffic Control duties as needed.
• Complete crew activity reports and maintain safety records.
