The City of Marion is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Public Works Department. The role involves safe operation of heavy equipment, snow removal, street repair, and routine maintenance under supervision.

The candidate will work outdoors in various weather conditions and may lead a crew as needed. Responsibilities include servicing trucks, assisting in sewer and traffic infrastructure projects, and supporting recycling and cemetery maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience in operating and maintaining trucks and related equipment is desired.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Operates snow removal equipment, plows, blows, and hauls snow.
• Repairs and maintains streets, patches concrete/asphalt, seals cracks, and paints/ sweeps streets.
• Cleans and flushes sewer lines; repairs pipes, manholes, inlets, and related structures.
• May act as lead worker for a crew and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Performs refuse collection with large trucks and assists in recycling center activities.
• Performs cemetery maintenance and grounds work as required.
• Supports installation/maintenance of traffic signals, signs, and barricades.
