Job summary

TMS International in Gary, IN is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to service and maintain on-site heavy diesel equipment in a day shift. The role requires hands-on repair work and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will work with heavy machinery such as front-end loaders, dozers, hydraulic cranes and off-road trucks, performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics and electrical repair as it applies to heavy off-road equipment.
• Candidates must be well versed in the repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered equipment.
• Strong technical problem solving based on expertise and experience, and a commitment to efficiently achieve high quality results is required.
• A thoughtful, persevering, self‑disciplined approach to achieving accurate, detailed work is essential.
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check and pre‑employment drug screen.
