Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an Equipment / Jarraff / SkyTrim Operator to join our utility line clearance team serving Carrollton/Carroll County, Ohio.

This full-time on-site role focuses on operating heavy mobile equipment on rights‑of‑way and upholding safety. Candidates should have at least two years of mobile equipment operating experience, the ability to pass a safety certification test, and the Davey orientation and First Aid/CPR trainings on hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years mobile equipment operating experience.
• Must pass a mobile equipment operations certification test.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Line clearance tree work experience preferred.
• Possession of pesticide licenses and ISA/TCIA certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jarraff/SkyTrim equipment on utility right‑of‑way.
• Ensure equipment and crew safety during tree removal.
• Assist in all job functions as a crew member.

Position Overview

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Equipment / Jarraff / SkyTrim Operator to our passionate team of utility line clearance professionals who will be joining a team servicing the Carrollton / Carroll County, Ohio region.

Job Duties

• Position involves operating Jarraff / SkyTrim mobile equipment on utility right-of-way
• Responsible for equipment and crew safety when removing trees on utility right-of-way
• Assist in all job functions as a member of the crew

Qualifications

What We're Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Prefer a minimum of two (2) years mobile equipment operating experience and training which provides the necessary operations skills, knowledge and abilities is required
• Be capable of successfully passing a mobile equipment operations certification test
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Profession

Additional Information

Hourly pay rate $22.00 – 28.00 based on line clearance / industry experience and if a CDL holder.
