Build your career at US Aggregates! As an Equipment Operator/Laborer, you will have responsibility for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Aggregates' Operations function, including but not limited to operating heavy equipment such as Front‑End Loaders, Haul Trucks, Skid Steers, and more.
Essential Functions
- Operate, service, and maintain various heavy equipment including front‑end loaders, off‑road dump trucks, skid steers, man‑lifts, fuel trucks, and water trucks to keep the plant clean and productive.
- Fuel, oil, and grease equipment and understand it’s safety manual.
- Perform pre‑shift and end‑shift checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Report orally and in writing as required and maintain accurate records such as activity reports, inventory reports, and maintenance logs.
- Participate in general training, job‑specific training, and hazardous materials training and successfully complete written examinations.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules applicable to the facility, job function, and equipment, including rules for safety around railroad tracks and equipment.
- Keep facilities and equipment clean and maintained.
- Recommend operational changes that may produce safer work processes, savings, and efficiencies.
- Abide by yard rules, safety regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork.
- Follow terminal processes and procedures for product transfers, quality assurance, safety, and operations.
- Complete required training and certifications necessary to perform duties safely and effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including continuous growth in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Skills And Abilities
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and high performance.
- Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Read, write, and communicate in English and understand basic math.
- Possess working knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principles.
- Complete all applicable documentation, record‑keeping, and daily inventory.
- Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and other communications from team members, management, or customers.
- Work with a team, take direction, and follow work rules, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Flexibility required; ability to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and work independently to get tasks completed.
- Strong welding, torching, and maintenance skills are preferred.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
- Ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks.
- Ability to bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or knees.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work outside for the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy).
