The State of North Carolina Department of Transportation is hiring Transportation Worker II (S) in the Duplin County Maintenance Unit. The role requires operating multiple heavy equipment and performing semi-skilled to skilled maintenance tasks on state roads, including snow removal and erosion control.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of matching equipment experience; CDL is required or must be obtained within 360 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or an equivalent education/experience combination.
• Three years of experience operating equipment directly related to the field.
• Must meet CDL requirements and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsabilités

• Operate and assist with state road maintenance and construction tasks in Duplin County.
• Perform tasks including equipment operation, traffic & erosion control, and right-of-way clearing.
• Inspect contract work and monitor manual tasks.
• Respond to emergencies such as traffic accidents and snow/ice removal.
• Assist with installation of drainage, paving, and pipe installations as needed.
