Job summary

City of St Joseph's Public Works division seeks an Equipment Operator II to operate and maintain landfill equipment for sanitary waste disposal. No supervisory duties and no budgetary responsibilities.

You will drive roll-off, flusher and dump trucks, run a windrow turner, tub grinder, loaders and tractors with attachments, and assist mechanics during outages. A high school diploma and MO CDL A with Tanker/Trailer endorsements are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MO Class A CDL with Tanker and Trailer endorsements required.
• 1–3 years of related field experience required.
• Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of trucks including roll-off, flusher, and dump trucks.
• Operate windrow turner and tub grinder for yard waste composting.
• Operate loader to move materials and assist with loading/dumping.
• Operate tractors with mower attachments and assist mechanics during outages.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Trains in operation of dual engine scrapers, compactors and/or bulldozers as assigned.
• Occasionally perform as a laborer when required.
