Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED certificate and two years' experience operating light to medium road construction equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical operations of road equipment and maintenance of equipment used in road construction and striping
• Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and follow safety standards and procedures

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment including mowers, shredders, forklifts, sweepers, rollers, loaders, fuel trucks, and dump trucks for roadways and facilities
• Prepares and applies asphalt using mechanized and non-mechanized equipment
• Completes service checks, maintenance and minor repairs of road equipment
• Performs safety procedures at construction sites and directs traffic when needed
• Maintains administrative logs, forms and reports
• Assists in on-the-job training of less experienced staff

## Equipment Operator II - CApplylocations: Public Works Judson Service Centertime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR100879**Job Title**Equipment Operator II - C**Pay Rate Min to Mid Range**$19.99 - $23.49**Time Type**Full time**Summary****Duties and Responsibilities:*** Operates various types of equipment including, but not limited to, mowers, shredders, fork lifts, sweepers, rollers, loaders, fuel trucks, and dump trucks used in construction and maintenance of roadways, drainage structures and parking facilities* Prepares and applies asphalt using both mechanized and non-mechanized equipment* Completes service checks, maintenance and minor repairs of various pieces of road equipment* Performs various safety related procedures at construction sites, including installation of various types of traffic control devices and directing traffic* Completes administrative logs, forms and reports* Assists in providing on-the-job training to less experienced and lower level employees* May exercise technical supervision over employees in the performance of road construction and maintenance* Performs related duties as required**Minimum Qualifications:*** Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and two (2) years' experience in operating light to medium road construction equipment or pavement marking equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience* Knowledge of mechanical operations of road equipment; knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment used in road construction, maintenance, striping and pavement marking* Skill in the operation of hand tools; knowledge of safety standards and practices; skill in performing mathematical calculations* Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs; ability to utilize independent judgment.
