Knowledge & Skills
- Good Verbal and written communication skills. Read, write, understand and communicate in English.
- Understanding of and ability to use computers.
- Sound judgment for use in machine troubleshooting and product disposition.
- Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication at various levels and areas within the organization.
- Must accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma, or GED with 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred; or Technical Certificate with relevant experience.
Work Environment
- Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
- Work environment can range from clean room with gowning requirements to a noisy production area with moving equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, and bilateral hand, wrist, and upper body motions.
- Requires visual concentration for product checks.
- Travel less than 5% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, ensuring continued operation through interpretation of and response to machine faults, line clearance needs, and station and fixture alignment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform start-up operations from power off; complete equipment and product paperwork, including traceability and start-up checklists.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks as required.
- Participate in changeovers, including line clearance, system transactions, and documentation.
- Perform work order setups in electronic batch record, data acquisition, and inventory management systems.
- Pull test samples for QC in-process inspection, remove finished products from machines, and place in totes.
- Fill component hoppers/bowls as needed to maintain production.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and escalate issues to technicians when necessary.
- Update production boards with output and efficiency metrics; note issues like downtime, waste, and quality concerns.
- Submit repair tags for machine issues requiring support.
- Process non-conforming products according to procedures.
- Maintain 5S standards in work areas.
