Sarasota County is seeking an Equipment Operator II in the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department. This position starts out paying $18.21/hr (Step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for growth and development.
Work Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Typical Schedule: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or its equivalent AND one (1) year of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of one or more pieces of the equipment described herein. Must have a valid Florida Class B CDL or greater. Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
Starting Pay Range: $20.10
