City of North Port, Florida is seeking an on-site equipment operator for grounds maintenance and heavy manual labor. You will operate a range of machinery for road, drainage, and swale projects under supervision and assist with traffic control while performing routine upkeep of equipment.
The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least three years of relevant experience. A Florida CDL Class B is required by the hire date. Emergency response duties may apply.
Skilled in the operation of intermediate and complex construction equipment. Duties also include the performance of manual laboring tasks. Work is performed under direct supervision of a Field Supervisor or lead worker.

All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official job description. Assignments in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature, with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically and operationally challenging conditions.
